Oct 14, 2013

Project Name:  Melbourne Grammar School - Memorial Hall Refurbishment

Project Duration:   Jan 2003 - April 2005

Following the success of the Power Reticulation Project (the first stage in the complex Memorial Hall refurbishments) ATS was invited to tender for the electrical works for this project.  This was a very complex project due the age of the existing buildings and the size and location of the new buildings, and ATS's experience with the heritage listed buildings at the School was deemed integral to delivering a successful project.

Following appointment ATS commenced works, however the project experienced numerous delays as the original builder went into administration part way through the project.

Works included:-

  • Demolition and removal of all existing wiring within Memorial Hall
  • Temporary Wiring set up and maintained for the duration of the project
  • Installation of all new lighting with dimming control.
  • Installation of distribution boards and associated cabling.
  • Installation of specialist circuits install for the stage equipment.
  • Installation of fibre optic backbone cabling along with a  complete data network
  • EWIS installation throughout the complex
  • Installation of an addressable FIP and associated detection with connection to the schools main FIP
  • Installation of a state of the art Audio system in both the main hall and rehearsal hall.
  • Installation of 2 lifts - one for patrons the other for stage equipment. The stage equipment lift is one of the most advanced for this type of installation. It required 4 stages of lift thus enabling the school to use the main hall for many different events.
  • Installation of specialist Stage Equipment to rival some of the best theatres in Australia.
