Powerline Safety Trials

Dec 12, 2013

Project Name:  Victorian Government Powerline Safety Trials

Project Duration:   2010 - 2012

In response to the 2009 Bushfires Royal Commission, the Victorian Government established a Taskforce to examine all options to minimise future risk.

These included installing generators for use on total fire ban days for 30 households, and a further 10 sites had Stand Alone Power Supplies installed to live Off the Grid.

ATS was appointed to assist with the trials management and handled the overall management of the trials development, customer liaison and implementation. This included community meetings, generator equipment tenders, site selection, system installation & compliance processes.

Due to privacy concerns, ATS created a mini call centre and Taskforce database to manage the enquiries that arose from the 3600 letters sent to prospective applicants.

The outcome exceeded all expectations of the Taskforce, and ATS were requested to extend their services.
